From the Pastor

Wednesday Midweek Message - December 23, 2015

As we approach a week filled with celebrations and activity, I pray that we will all hear a new word from God!

Please join the congregation of RUMC for worship on Christmas Eve with candlelight at all 3 of our services:

  • 4:30 Family Service
  • 7 pm Service with Praise Band
  • 10 pm Traditional Service

I look forward to seeing all of you in worship on Christmas Eve, in hope that every service, featuring the glorious music of the season, will bring us to our knees at the manger.  It should be a glorious night!

Please remember to invite your friends and neighbors, especially those who do not have a faith family.  The easiest way to do that is to share our Facebook posts this week.  I have saved a beautiful post for this week.  Don’t miss it!

Rich and I wish all of you a blessing-filled Christmas.

Rev. Vivian McCarthy, Pastor

Wednesday Midweek Message - December 16, 2015

Dear Friends,

This Sunday and next (plus Christmas Eve) provide great opportunities for us to invite folks to very special worship services and events.  This week we are hosting Christmas (Music) on Main Street AND Music Sunday -- both offer wonderful opportunities to take a break from the busy-ness of the season and just enjoy in the company of others.  Christmas Eve offers 3 very different services, all filled with music and candlelight.  Sunday, December 27, we will be singing the carols that you pick out.  And in the midst of it all, we will be sharing with our community how this particular faith family reaches out beyond ourselves to a world in need.  Imagine the impact these celebrations could have on someone you know and love!  Imagine!

Our newsletter and the Christmas Eve bulletins will feature our upcoming worship series designed to touch us and so many others where we live.  The first series of the new year (beginning January 10) will focus on coping -- as youth, young adults, and adults.  Begin thinking today about those who want a more peace-filled life and invite them to worship with you.

See you on Sunday!
