Midweek Message - April 12, 2016
First a huge Thank You to Mark Norris for sharing his faith and his expertise as an environmental scientist over the last 2 Sundays. This Sunday we will focus on Environmental Justice -- a biblical and theological response to Care for Creation and our Relationship to Creation.
Also this week -- Sunday, April 17, 4 pm
Organ and Piano Concert
Kelly Renner, Piano
And Steve Stem, Organ
When I listen to Kelly and Steve play together, it is clear that they are giving an offering to God. The music has vitality and sincerity, and when these two servant leaders play together, there is a harmony that runs much deeper than anything on the pages of the score. Sweet!
I am giving thanks to God today for the families who have brought their children for baptism in the last 2 weeks. We have talked about raising their children with the help of the congregation that has promised to "surround them with a community of love and forgiveness." One of the families spoke about their desire to raise their child in a church family where they can experience mission service and youth group as the parents did when they were children. Join me in prayer this week for the Benton-Taylor, Sharp-Burgos, and Douglas families, that they will find such a community of love and support that they will be drawn fully into the life of this family of faith.
One last thing – mark your calendars now – Confirmation is May 15th and there will be only ONE service at 10 am on that day.
Blessings on you!
