Youth

1 Peter 3:8

"Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers and sisters, be compassionate and humble."

Welcome to RUMC's youth ministry, where we're attracting and inspiring youth to be alive for Jesus and make a "Jesus kind of difference." Our Ministry Team, parents, and congregation are excited about what God is doing here. Join us as we discover Christ together.

Youth Group – Sunday evenings 6:00-8:00pm

This group is open to high schoolers and middle schoolers alike. We have a team of 4-5 adults who help to run things, generate discussion, keep things focused, and deliver insight. We tend to use most of 308 Main Street throughout the evening.

Our two hour meeting time consists of a variety of games to kick off and get everyone settled in. Afterward we do a more thought-provoking activity that requires more depth and time, the underlying theme of which relates to the overall theme of the evening. Finally we drive into scripture-based discussion often breaking up into groups by age so deeper conversation can take place.

ACOLYTES

We are in need of some help as Acolytes for the 10:30 worship services for this fall and winter. The tentative schedule is posted on the youth bulletin board. Please respond to me by email or phone to confirm if you can help as an acolyte with the upcoming church services. If you would like to participate in the acolyte training please contact Kate Strom or myself. You don’t have to be a youth to help with this part of worship. We also need back up or substitute people. If you would like to serve contact; Kate Strom, 443-722-6495/ or Susan Harry, 410-245-7190/

ROCK 2017

We offer praise for the youth and their leaders who raised $12,524 during the recent ROCK retreat offering to provide camperships that send young people to summer camp at Manidokan and West River. We also celebrate the youth at ROCK who made a commitment to Christ. The BWC provided the opportunity for five youth and three adults from Marsden UMC in Bermuda to attend the event. Their pastor, the Rev. Joseph Whalen, wrote in a praise report: "Three of our youth who hadn't accepted Jesus already, accepted Jesus as their Lord and personal savior this evening. Was an awesome experience; we are all so hyped up about this and the children are really excited about the new journey they are on. God is good."
